Is your dog misbehaving too?
Sometimes our clients need some help with other issues - such as dogs behaving badly!
Because we've been handling and treating dogs for many years and we're dog owners ourselves, we've learnt quite a bit about their behaviour and their reactions to specific situations.
For starters, we respect that dogs are dogs - not humans. This means they have their own unique ways of communicating fear, anxiety, pain, boredom and contentment.
Some owners notice unhealthy behaviour and make excuses for them or write them off as being part of their dogs "unique personality". They're happy to live with them!
Others however, are concerned and wished their dog had more sociable and "balanced" behaviours.
And its these people we can often help.
Our behavioural consultations are specifically designed to address some of the more common problems we see in dogs every day. We don't offer "training programs" such as teaching your dog to sit, stay and do tricks. That's what dog trainers do and we'll happily recommend you attend some training classes in your area.
The aim of a behavioural consultation is to discover the causes of the unwanted behaviours then suggesting some corrective actions.
Because there's a lot of ground to cover, they're longer than a routine consultation. Allow around one hour for initial sessions.

- A physical examination of your dog to rule out any medical conditions that may be contributing to the problem
- Dog Training - in which case we'll refer you to a qualified and experienced dog trainer
- A preliminary behavioural consultion - with us or
- A referral to a Veterinary Behaviour Specialist
